#54 What does the caret ^ do in front of version numbers?

Originally at 2015-02-02T15:22:15Z by Hannes Hirzel closed at 2015-02-10T02:31:51Z A caret in front of a version number in ``bower.json`` as for example ``^0.14`` means that if you run ``bower install`` the latest compatible version will be pulled in. ``bower.json`` still shows the earlier version number but the file ``bower.json`` which is contained in ``bower_components/amber`` shows the more recent version number.
